Significance
Pradosh Vrat, observed on the thirteenth tithi (Trayodashi) of each fortnight, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati. Worship during the pradosh kaal — the twilight around sunset — is held to be especially fruitful.
The vrat takes on the quality of its weekday: Som Pradosh (Monday) for wishes, Bhaum Pradosh (Tuesday) for health, Shani Pradosh (Saturday) for progeny, and so on.
Rituals
Devotees fast through the day and worship the Shivling during pradosh kaal with water, bel leaves and lamps, reciting the Pradosh Vrat katha. The fast is broken after the evening worship.
