What is Ravi Pushya Yoga?
Ravi Pushya Yoga is formed when the Pushya nakshatra falls on a Sunday — the day of Ravi (the Sun). Pushya is regarded as the most auspicious of the 27 nakshatras, and its coincidence with the Sun's own weekday makes the combination especially strong. The yoga lasts for as long as both hold together on that day — the overlap of the Pushya nakshatra with the Sunday from sunrise to the next sunrise.
What it is good for
Ravi Pushya is prized for new beginnings, buying gold and property, starting work, investing and signing agreements. Ventures and purchases begun in this window are believed to prosper. As with all Pushya timings, marriage is traditionally avoided.
How the timings are set
The Pushya nakshatra begins and ends at the same instant everywhere, but the Sunday "day" is measured from your local sunrise to the next sunrise — so the exact window depends on your location. Set your city above so the times are correct for you.
Guru Pushya
When Pushya instead falls on a Thursday (Guru, Jupiter's day), the closely related Guru Pushya Yoga is formed — equally auspicious, especially for wealth and learning.
