What is Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga?
Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga — literally "the yoga that accomplishes every purpose" — is a highly auspicious combination formed when a particular nakshatra falls on its associated weekday. It is considered favourable for starting almost any good work, and tradition holds that it can even soften the ill effects of an otherwise unfavourable time. The yoga lasts for the overlap of the qualifying nakshatra with the weekday, from sunrise to the next sunrise.
The weekday-and-nakshatra combinations
Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga forms on these pairs (a day can have more than one):
- Sunday — Hasta, Mula, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Pushya, Ashwini
- Monday — Shravana, Rohini, Mrigashira, Pushya, Anuradha
- Tuesday — Ashwini, Krittika, Ashlesha
- Wednesday — Rohini, Anuradha, Ardra, Mrigashira
- Thursday — Revati, Anuradha, Ashwini, Punarvasu, Pushya
- Friday — Revati, Anuradha, Ashwini, Punarvasu, Shravana
- Saturday — Shravana, Rohini, Swati
What it is good for
It is prized for signing contracts, examinations and interviews, buying and selling, purchasing land, vehicles, clothes and ornaments, and starting new ventures. Two cautions: buying a vehicle on Tuesday and iron on Saturday are traditionally avoided even within this yoga.
How the timings are set
The nakshatra begins and ends at the same instant everywhere, but the weekday is measured from your local sunrise to the next sunrise — so the window depends on your location. Set your city above so the times are correct for you.
